Federations Told
to Bolt Non-Jewish
Charity Campaigns

WASHINGTON (JTA) —
Jews as individuals can and
should participate in fund-
raising for the general com-
munity but Jewish federa-
tions and other Jewish
fund-raising organizations
cannot with any justifica-
tion raise funds for - non-
Jewish purposes, in the view
of Philip M. Klutznick, Bnai
Brith honorary president.
Klutznick, who is also chair-
man of the World Jewish
Congress governing board,
expressed that opinion in a
new booklet, "Vital Issues in
the Jewish Community,"
published by the Bnai Brith
Youth Organization.
He also predicted that
movement toward a na-
tional health program
would necessarily diminish
the extent of Jewish partici-
pation in support of hospi-
tals, medical schools and
similar services, and said
that, eventually, he ex-
pected Jewish institutional
support for vocational agen-
cies would decline.

Yavneh Offers
Summer Travel

Yavneh, the National Re-
ligious Jewish Students As-
sociation, will offer its pro-
gram of summer tours of
Israel, Europe, and the
United States. The Yavneh
summer tours are co-educa-
tional and are open to reli-
gious college students and
recent college graduates.
The tour of Israel pro-
vides a religious atmosphere
and an insight into Israeli
Jewry, its problems, and the
part religion and religious
people take in the formula-
tion of the new Israeli so-
ciety.
The theme of the Euro-
pean tour is "Thirty Years
After the Holocaust." It is
led by an expert on Eastern
European Jewry and the
Holocaust.
For information about
Yavneh Tours, contact Yav-
neh, 156 Fifth Avenue, New
York 10010.
