Jewish Community Council Plans Final Delegate Assembly
The Jewish Community
Council's concluding dele-
gate assembly for the
1975-76 season will be held 8
p.m. May 20 in the LaMed
Auditorium of United He-
brew Schools.
John H. Shepherd, council
vice president, will present
the evening's keynote ad-
dress, reviewing the find-
ings of a questionnaire-sur-
vey conducted during the

community opinion regard-
ing the Council's activities
and purposes.
Delegates will have the
opportunity to air commu-
nity comment about the
Council's goals and priori-
ties during the coming sea-
son. Presidents of the Coun-
cil's affiliated organizations
have been requested to re-
serve in writing time for
their delegates to address
the assembly.
Other items of business
before the assembly in-
clude election of officers
and executive committee
members for the 1976-77
season and farewell re-
marks by outgoing Council
President Lewis S. Gross-
man. Refreshments will be
served by Detroit Chapter
of Hadassah.
Meanwhile, the council
has notified rabbis and
presidents of affiliated or-
ganizations of the Detroit
Bicentennial Commission's
Women's Task Force's Rec-
ognition and Awards pro-
gram to honor 12 outstand-
ing Detroit women for their
services to the community
during the nation's 200th
anniversary celebration.
Individuals and organiza-
tions are eligible to nomi-
nate any woman who is 18
years or older and currently
lives in Detroit. Nominators
are requested to submit a
letter of 500 words or less to

Mrs. Aaron Reitman at a
LZA-Israel Bond cocktail
reception 9 a.m. May 15 at
the Labor Zionist Institute.
Reitman is a past presi-
dent of the Brenner-Tru-
man Branch and has
chaired many of its commit-
tees. In the 1930's he was
one of the organizers of
Hashomer Hatzair.
Mrs. Reitman has taught
in the Detroit school system
for almost 30 years.
