WASHINGTON (ZINS)
— The Washington corre-
spondent of the Hebrew
daily Ha'aretz, writes that
the establishment of an elite
political advisory committee
within the Labor Party,
headed by former Premier
Golda Meir, pleases the
Administration in Washing-
ton because it removes—
for the time being — the
threat of a new government
of national unity coming to
power that would include
the opposition bloc, Likud.
Local government circles
feel that Golda's recall
strengthens Rabin's posi-
tion and forestalls the call-
ing of new national elec-
tions.
