Shaarit Haplaytah Memorial Slated Sunday

Shaarit Haplaytah Or-
ganization — Survivors of
the Nazi Holocaust — in
cooperation with Cong. Bnai
Moshe and the Jewish Com-
munity Council, will hold its
annual community-wide
memorial academy dedi-
cated to the memory of the
Six Million 1:30 p.m. Sun-
day at Bnai Moshe.
Mrs. Sally Fields will
present a special citation to
Pat Foley, past state com-
mander, Veterans of For-
eign Wars of America. Ar-
nold Einhorn will present a
"Righteous Gentiles Cita-
tion" to Rev. John B. Zwers,
superintendent of schools,
rchdiocese of Detroit.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman
deliver memorial ad-
dresses and Rabbi Charles
Rosenzveig and Cantor Jo-

seph Birnholtz will chant
memorial prayers and ren-
ditions.

Greetings will be ex-
tended by Simon Schwarz-
berg, president of Shaarit
Haplaytah; John H. Shep-
herd, vice president of the
Jewish Community Coun-
cil and Jack Kutnick,
president of Bnai Moshe.

Eric Rosenow and
Charles Weiner will partici-
pate in memorial selections.

Federation of Reform Syn-
agogues will present its an-
nual Social Action Institute
1:30 p.m. May 1 at Temple
Emanu-El.
Entitled "Christian and
Jew in America; in Tension
and in Alliance," the pro-
gram will be conducted by
Rabbi Saperstein, director,
Religious Action Center,
Union of American Hebrew
Congregations.
The institute is presented
under the auspices of the
Metropolitan Detroit Feder-
ation of Reform Synagogues
and is presented by the so-
