Announces for Circuit Bench
Lillian Fischer Celebrates Her
25th Anniversary With Bonds
James Clarkson, judge of
the 46th District Court has
announced his candidacy for
the Oakland County Circuit
Court. He will be seeking
one of two vacant seats.
Elected in 1968 to the 46th
Lillian Fischer is cele-
brating her 25th anniver-
sary with the State of Israel
Bond organization.
Miss Fischer opened the
Greater Detroit Bond office
25 years ago. Assigned the
posts of office manager and
Women's Division director,
Miss Fischer organized the
first Bond function on May
1, 1951.
She transferred to Cali-
fornia where she was Los
Angeles Women's Division
director and director of the
West Coast Women's Divi-
sion. She later joined the
field staff of the national
Women's Division.
She returned to Detroit
in 1966 and was re-as-
signed the post of director
of the Women's Division
and established the Medi-
cal Division.
Miss Fischer attended
Wayne Skate University, the
University of Detroit and

was re-elected in 1972. He
was a four-term mayor of
Southfield and in 1959
served as a member of the
Michigan Legislature.
He also served for eight
years as a member of the
Oakland County Board of
Supervisors, and is a for-
mer member of the Oak-
land County Child Guid-
ance Clinic board of
directors, the taxation
committee of Michigan
State Bar and council for
its grievance committee.
A practicing attorney for
17 years, he is a 1951 gradu-
ate of the Detroit College of
Law and attended North-
eastern University and the
Detroit Institute of Technol-
ogy. Clarkson, 51, and his
family reside in Southfield.
