Bnai Moshe Youth to Have
Family Day at Ice Capades

Bnai Moshe youth is spon-
soring a family day at the
Ice Capades Sunday, meet-
ing 4 p.m. at the syn-
agogue's parking lot. The
group will then proceed by
bus to Olympia Stadium.

Bruce M. Fleischer, a
sophomore at Bloomfield
Hills Roeper, was one of two
students to win gold_first
place awards in the 19th
annual Michigan Mathe-
matics Competition. He also
was chosen to receive a Bur-
roughs Corp. college schol-
arship.
Bruce, 14, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Fleischer of
Providence Dr., Southfield,
competed against more than
21,000 high school students.
Last year he was the only
freshman to be honored at
the annual awards banquet.

Berkley High School stu-
dent Scott Klein was named
an award winner by the
Mathematical Association
of America for placing in
the top 100 of 21,000 high
school students participat-
ing in the 19th annual Mich-
igan Mathematics Prize
Competition.

Science Fair
Opens at Cobo

Nearly 3,000 area stu-
dents have submitted en-
tries to the 1976 Science and
Engineering Fair of Metro-
politan Detroit, to be held
noon-8 p.m. today and Sat-
urday, and noon-4 p.m. Sun-,
day at Cobo Hall.
There is no admission
charge. The Science and
Engineering Fair of Metro-
politan Detroit, largest of
its kind in the nation, is
sponsored by major busi-
ness and industry in the
metropolitan area.

Israel Tour Aid
Offered for Girls

Girls age 15-18 are invited
to apply for scholarships
toward the 1976 Summer-
in-Israel trip, co-sponsored
by the Synagogue Council of
America and the Girl
Scouts.
The five-week tour will
a trip in the Maron
mountains, visits to biblical
sites, a climb on Masada
and camping trips -with Is-
raeli scouts. Cost of the trip
includes three daily meals,
hotels, tours, camping and
field school.

Marcy Joyce Heller,
daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Harry A. Heller of Detroit,
has won the Indianapolis
Business and Professional
Women's Club "Young Ca-
reer Woman" competition
and will compete in a dis-
trict event. Miss Heller is
employed by the Teacher
Corps of the Indianapolis
school system, and her in-
ternship stipulates that she
live within her school dis-
trict, a low-income commu-
nity.

Meyer Warshawsky,
probate and juvenile court
judge of Van Buren County,
was selected by Gov. Wil-
liam Milliken to fill a va-
cancy in the Van Buren
County Circuit Court.

Dr. Melvin Wasserman,
chairman of the fine arts de-
partment at Fraser High
School, has been selected as
associate director of the
Discovery Youth Chorale.
The chorale will present 14
concerts between July 5 and
24 'in Amsterdam, Ham-
burg, Berlin, Salzburg, In-
nsbruck, Zurich, Stras-
bourgh, Bonn and Brussels.
