AZA Chapters
Plan JNF Drive

Members of the Bnai
Brith AZA Council of Met-
ropolitan Detroit and of the
Michigan Region will mobil-
ize an Israel Tree Planting
Campaign through the Jew-
ish National Fund on Jan.
25, to mark JNF Month, it
was announced by David
Raphael, AZA program di-
rector.
Marshall Philka of Rose
Chapter, AZA, is the coordi-
nator. Larry Adler is the
Aleph Godol (president) of
the AZA Council.
The AZA will have
booths in the leading shop-
ping malls and will appear
at lodge meetings and be-
fore other organizations
and canvass door to door.
The goal is 1,000 trees this
year and eventually the
planting of a Detroit AZA
Grove of 3,000 trees in the
Bnai Brith Martyrs For-
est.
It is the first coordinated
tree planting effort by all
the AZA chapters. Last year
Rose Chapter pioneered in
establishing a tree sales
booth at the Lincoln Shop-
ping Center and planted a
garden of 100 trees. It set a
precedent for the entire
country.
For information call the
Bnai Brith Youth Organiza-
tion, 354-6113.

nette Robinson, treasurer;
Edith Barrett, recording
secretary; Sam 'Schneider,
program chairman; Joseph
Adler, program co-chair-
man; Polk and Harry Gold-
stein, directors at large.
The club's membership
includes former Detroiters
from Broward and Palm
Beach counties, and from as
far north as Boca Raton.
