Planning is continuing for
the annual Michigan BBYO
Regional Convention, which
will take place Dec. 24-29 at
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter.
The theme of this year's
convention will be "The Jew-
ish Contribution to Amer-
ica." Activities will include
speakers, movies, as well as
other programs such as the
ISF Theme Carnival, a
Shabat- service and oneg
Shabat, which will take
place at Cong. Beth-Abra-
ham Hillel and a dinner-
dance, which will be held at
Cong. Beth Achim.
The regional convention is
also a time when regional
eliminations take place in
many national and district
BBYO contests, including
oratory, story telling, art,
literature, handicrafts,
film,. photography, newspa-
per, song, baking, volleyball,
basketball, ping pong and
bowling., Chairmen for the
convention are Mitch Wei-
ner of Rose AZA and Jane
Herman of Savage BBG.

The Great Lakes AZA
Council announces the
appointment of Marshall
Philka of Rose AZA as
Jewish National Fund
chairman. The AZA Coun-
cil will sponsor a JNF tree
selling campaign to corre-
spond with Tu b'Shevat in
January.
The Great Lakes BBG
Council announces the elec-
tion of Sue Margolis of Dal-
yah BBG, Livonia, as trea-
surer.
Disraeli BBG is collect-
ing coupons of major brand
products. The coupons are
being sent to the Junior
League of the Blind, which
in turn redeems them for
money.. So far, approxi-
mately $150 in coupons have
