the Michigan-Israel Bond
Dinner of State Nov. 25 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Gov. Milliken will be pre-
sented with the Israel Prime
Minister's Medal by Moshe
Kol, minister of tourism of
the state of Israel.
The dinner gill highlight
Detroit's special cash cam-
paign to help minimize Is
rael's financial crisis, an-
nounces Joseph H. Jackier,
dinner chairman. A goal of
$3 million has been set for

the campaign.
The dinner will be under
the patronage of the Israel
Ambassador to the U.S.
Simha Dinitz, and will be
headed by a corps of pa-
tron-hosts under the
chairmanship of Marvin
and Barbara Frenkel.
Sam Cohodas, banker and
community leader of the
Upper Peninsula, is the din-
ner's honorary custodian of
'the menora of statehood.

Hasidic Happening Features
Renowned Singer-Actor Bikel
Theodore Bikel, stage and
screen actor, folk singer,
'guitarist, author lecturer,
raconteur and social activ-
ist, will appear in concert
7:30 p.m. Wednesday at
Ford Auditorium in the
eighth annual - . "HaSidic
Happening" concert pre'
sented by the Chabad-Lu-
bavitch Organization of
Michigan.
Born in Vienna, Bikel was
13 when he and his parents
left Austria for Palestine.
He intended to teach com-
parative linguistics, being
fluent in Hebrew, Yiddish
and German, but instead he
worked on a kibutz.
In 1946 Bikel entered Lon-
don's Royal Academy of
Dramatic Art from which
he graduated with honors.
Among Bikel's credits
are "The Russians Are
Coming," "My Fair
Lady" and "The Little
Ark." He also appeared in
"Fiddler on the Roof."
As author and raconteur,
Bikel wrote and starred in
Israeli Products

The Detroit Zionist Fed-
eration has compiled its
first list of Israeli products
sold in Detroit to help its
"buy Israel products" cam-
paign.
