Hadassah—WIZO
Plans `Goldsweep'
Through Canada

MONTREAL (JTA) —
The "Great Goldsweep" is
the name of a fund-raising
venture to be launched by
the Hadassah-WIZO Organ-
ization of Canada from
coast to coast this fall.
Hadassah-WIZO women
in every community, 16,000
strong, will collect dis-
carded items containing any
kind of valuable metal capa-
ble of being recycled. The
resulting concentrate will
be sold at current market
prices for re-use by indus-
tries requiring precious
metals.
In announcing the "Great
Goldsweep," Mrs. B. M.
Bloomfield, national presi-
dent, urged every Jewish
household to participate in
this collection as a means of
providing extra dollars to
relieve the economic hard-
ship suffered by many fami-
lies in Israel.
"This is literally a golden
opportunity to help needy
mothers and children in Is-
rael," Mrs. Bloomfield said.
