consultant designer and in-
terior decorator of Cobo
Hall, will supervise the de-
sign and furnishing of the
Chabad House at the Uni-
versity of Michigan.
The
"I am now going to rede-
sign it completely, to meet
the needs of the new occu-
pants. 1\ly men and I will
give special attention to the
Hasidic functions, worship
and their special needs.
"There is to be one of the
most up-to-date and modern
mikves in the Middle West,
with plush, feminine, pow-
der-room and toiletry facili-
ties.
"On the main floor,
specially-designed cabi-
nets will house the Torah
Scrolls, flanked by multi-
functional lecterns to ac-
commodate sidurim, chu-
mashim and other prayer-
books, and there will be
spacious student and visi-
tor lounges, which can_be
converted to an audito-
rium for worship or lec-
tures. On the same level
will be Rabbi Aron Gold-
stein's office and study,
with provisions for small
conference, and special
space for numerous refer-
ence books."
Newton said the house
also will include a large con-
ference and meeting room, a
study and reading room for
resident students, an apart-
ment for managerial and
caretaker's residence, eight
single or double rooms for
residence students, a large
restaurant, two distinctly
different, ultra-modern
kitchens, the large one for
meat dishes (servicing the
restaurant), and the smaller
one, with its own separate

engagement of their daugh-
ter Linda Dworin to
Harvey Freedenberg, son
of Mrs. Ethel Freedenberg
of Harrisburg, Pa., and the
late Mr. Harry Freeden-
berg. Miss Dworin was
graduated from Michigan
State University. Her fiance
is a senior at the University
of Michigan's law school. A
May wedding is planned.
Primrose Society
Presents $1,000
to the AJC-IEF
Th>Primrose Benevolent
Society presented a check
for $1,000 to the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign-Israel Emer-
gency Fund.
The payment on the club's,
1975 IEF commitment will
he sent to Israel for use in
United Jewish Appeal hu-
manitarian programs there.
The society conducts
fund-raising efforts an-
nually on behalf of the Is-
rael Emergency Fund.
