prize for the Walter E.
Klein Community Action
Award. The award was
presented at a recent meet-
ing of the Jewish Commu-
nity Council, and honors the
chapter for its ongoing serv-
ice projects in the commu-
nity, which included raising
money to combat Tay-Sach
Disease, adopting Soviet
Jewish pen pals and aiding
recreation activities at a lo-
cal nursing home.

being formed for Jewish
Youth 14-18, in the Detroit-
Oak Park area. This chapter
will serve boys attending
Henry Ford and Oak Park

Israeli Musical
Halutzim (grades 3-5) will
have a Shabat meeting 2
p.m. Saturday at the home
of Mindy Speiser, 14125

There will be refreshments.
The group will hold a bar-
becue and "Memory Day"
Sunday, meeting 1 p.m. at
Young Israel of Greenfield.
The afternoon will feature
slides and' photos of the
year's events, as well as a
comedy movie.

High School department
will present the Israeli mu-
sical "The King and The
Cobbler," 8 p.m. Tuesday in
the Louis and Esther LaMed
Auditorium.
Under the direction of Dr.
Shalom Kalib, Olek Netzer,

ham Ben-Zeev, the musical
will be presented in English
depicting in stories, songs,
and dances, a legendary epi-
sode involving King Solo-
mon.
