Bnai Moshe Senior United
Synagogue Youth will hold
an oneg Shabat program 8
p.m. today at the home of
Louis Thoryn,.10744 Lin-
coln, Huntington Woods.
The program will include re-
freshments, a short service,
songs and dancing, and a
discussion on "The Political
Jew." The group will hold a
social action project 1:30
p.m. Sunday in the syn-
agogue.
Bnai Moshe Youth is
sponsoring its second an-
nual family evening at the
Ice Capades at Olympia
Stadium. Participants will
meet 5 p.m. March 16 at the
synagogue and proceed by
chartered bus. All young-
sters and their parents are
invited.
Kadima (wades 7-8) will
hold elections for the office
of social vice president 1:15
p.m. Sunday in the syn-
agogue. Group president
Ronnie Demak will be in
charge of the election.

pai-ty will be held for 4-7
year olds 2:30 p.m. Saturday
at Young Israel of Green-
field. There will be games
and refreshments. Shabat
meetings will continue 2:30

Young Israel invites all its
junior group members in
grades 3-8, and their par-
ents to attend a family day
at the Ice Capades on March
16. A bus will leave Young
Israel of Greenfield at 1

Student Wins
Debate Contest

Carolyn Rosenberg, a sen-
ior at Southfield-Lathrup
High School, won first place
and a $1,300 scholarship
Saturday in the John S.
Knight Debate Contest at
the Detroit Heritage Hotel.
Carolyn was named the
winner from among 36
other finalists in the con-
test, sponsored by The De-
troit Free Press and the
Michigan High School For-
ensic Association.
The debate topic this year
was "Resolved: That the
United States should signif-
icantly change the method
of selecting presidential and
vice presidential candi-
dates."
Carolyn's coach, Don
Ritzenhein, was a third
place winner in the 1964
Knigh Scholarship debate.
