Hasidim-Amish
Link Found?

Howard Sherizen of Oak ,
Park made a discovery while
on a recent flight to Israel
where he will be studying
for the next six months.
After having looked ar-
ound at the other passen-
gers, some of which were
Lubavitch Hasidim and oth-
ers of the Amish religious
sect, he found that he could
not tell the difference be-
tween the two since the men
in both groups wore side-
locks and similar garb:
He said gathering men for
a maariv minyan was diffi-
cult since the men were
dressed so similarly.

Out of town guests at-
tending the recent Bar
Mitzva of Alan Gilbert Ku-
hel, son of Dr. and Mrs. Eli
H. Kuhel of Shevington Dr.,
Southfield, included his
grandmother, Mrs. Edith
Kuhel; his aunt, Mrs. Ruth
Young; cousins, Jeffrey
Young and Kevin Young of
Cleveland; and Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Kopans, Mr. and
Mrs. Abraham Selman, Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Stamm
and Philip Selman of Illi-
nois.
