JOE MILLER

The word caucus origin-._
ated in Boston early in th
18th Century when political
parties began nominating
their candidates by means
of a congressional caucus.
The most plausible origin of
the word is that it comes
from an Algonquin India
word,
kaw-kaw-was,
meaning "to talk."
