Adat Shalom Synagogue
will present the second pro-
gram in its "Not for Women
Only — the Jewish Woman
at the Crossroads" series 8:15
p.m. Monday at the syna-
gogue.
A seminar will be held on
"Jewish Marriage — Time
for Change?" Participants
include Dr. Harry Maisel,
moderator; Rabbi Jacob E.
Segal, Esther Poupko and
Shoshana Wolok.
The seminars are sponsor-
ed by the adult study com-
mission of Adat Shalom.

The dedication of the Beth
Achim synagogue 1:30 p.m.
Feb. 16, will be a highlight
of the Beth Achim Dedica-
tion Weekend, Feb. 14-16.
The edifice, considered one
, of the most magnificent
houses of worship in mid-
America, includes the Pop-
lack Garden Court, stained
glass windows symbolizing
the Days of Creation, 12 col-
umns supporting the main
entrance portico, symbolizing
the 12 Tribes of Israel, and
the ark reaching to the high
part of the ceiling visible
through a transparent drape,
instead of the usual decora-
tive doors.
The synagogue includes
classrooms for United He-
brew School students; a
youth lounge, a library, the
Rabbi Benjamin H. and Sa-
rah Gorrelick Lounge, a
chapel, the Wasserman Hall,
which can seat 1,200; admin-
istrative offices, and exten-
sive kitchen and dining fa-
cilities, which have made

The dedication weekend
will be ushered in with a
late Friday Evening Service
of Prayer and Tribute 8:15
p.m. Feb. 14 when all the
past presidents of the con-
gregation and affiliates will
be honored.
The Shabat morning serv-
ice on Feb. 15, will honor the
youth and the teachers. The
High Holy Day Choir will
assist Cantor Bermanis.
Rabbi Arm will preach on
"Making a Sanctuary — for
Whom and for What." The
formal dedication ceremonies
will be held Feb. 16.
There will be a special sep-
arate children's program
Feb. 16 while the adults are
attending the dedication.
The Dedication Dinner-
Dance 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16, will
be preceded by a cocktail
reception. Carl Stern, noted
NBC-TV reporter and com-
mentator will speak on "The
Jewish View on Watergate."
Larry Freedman and his
Orchestra will play for the
dancing. Guests attending
the dinner will receive a
commemorative plate as a
souvenir. Souvenirs of the
dedication will also be given
to all member families of
Beth Achim.
Elliot Burns is co-chair-
man of the dedication com-
mittee. Bernard Panush is
the chairman of the Friday
evening and Sabbath serv-
ices; Judge Benjamin J.
Friedman is chairman of the
Sunday afternoon dedication
program.

YI Teens Plan
Oneg Shabat

Young Israel Teens of the
National Conference of Syna-
gogue Youth will have an
oneg Shabat 8 p.m. today at
the home of the Eisenberg
family. Dr. Jay Stern will be
guest speaker.
The group will have a
Bowl-a-Thon for the Torah
Fun, the NCSY tzedaka pro-
ject, meeting 1:15 p.m. Sun-
day at Young Israel of Oak-
Woods. There is a charge.
