Hebrew Students in 'Braha Bee'

some 100 elementary schools
throughout the country will
meet Feb. 11 here for the
final round in the national
"braha (blessing) bee" cons
test.
Modeled after the tradi-
tional spelling bee — the .

"braha bee" uses the same
approach to select first the
class champions and then in-
dividual school champions.
The contest is sponsored by
the National Conference of
Yeshiva Principals—an affil-
iate of Torah Umesorah, the
National Society for Hebrew
Day Schools.

Bergman Denies Nursing Home Charges at Inquiry, Files Suit

Bernard Bergman claimed
Tuesday that all charges that
he operated nursing homes
in an illegal and improper
manner were "false" and that
he has been the "target of
attacks by "public officials
and the media of which there
is no parallel since the days
