Tucker, Merrill Star in Concert

KEROS

Metropolitan Opera stars
Richard Tucker and Robert
Merrill sang before a capac-
ity audience Sunday at the
42nd annual Balfour Concert
at Ford Auditorium.
Tucker and Merrill, with
the support of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra con-
ducted by Theo Alcantara,
sang a number of operatic
selections.
The stars also treated the
audience to several encores,
highlighted by Merrill's ren-
dition from "The Barber of
Seville," and a duet perform-
ance of a medley from "Fid-
dler on the Roof."

duet's encore, said he was

program in support of Israel.
