years of service to Youth
Aliya. The tea also honored
those Hadassah women who
have helped with the gift-
wrapping projects during the
Christmas holiday and
Mothers Day. Mrs. Shaprow
announced that three Hadas-
sah members are available
for year-round giftwrapping,
specializing in weddings,
showers and birthdays. For

ships for summer 1975. Dr.
Jack Stanzler, chairman of
the commission on Jewish
education of the Flint Jewish
Community Council, an-
nounced that partial scholar-
ships for Israel pilgrimmages
are being offered to youths
age 15 through high school,
provided that the recipient
will spend the following
school year in Flint.
The registrant must be age
15 by June 1975; his or her
parents must be members of
the Flint Jewish Community
Council; and a preparatory
program will be required,
along with additional infor-
mal meetings prior to de-
parture.

Youth on
the Move
The Flint Jewish Commu-
nity Council men's softball
team_ won a game July 11
with •a score of 9-8. The next
game, vs. Flint Baptist Tem-
ple, will be 6 p.m. Thursday
at Armory No. 1.
Seniors Hosted
at Cookout Party
Dr. Evelyn Golden, chair-
man of the seniors advisory
committee of the Flint Jew-
ish Community Council, re-
ported a successful and well-
attended picnic was held last
week by the Senior Friend-
ship Club.
Mrs. Carl Fisher, daugh-
ter-in-law of Mrs. Eva Fish-
er, provided a cookout at her
home.
The club greeted many
new guests. who joined in
playing cards and mahj after
the picnic.

Slated This Evening
The leadership develop-

will hold the season's first
Shabat in the Park," a fam-
ily affair to celebrate the
Sabbath, 6:15 p.m. today at
Ballenger Park.
Participants will bring
their dinner and candlesticks.
The Council will provide
wine and hot coals for cook-
outs.

in Germany, Werner Nach-
mann, and the general sec-
retary, Alexander Ginsburg,
were among the limited num-
ber .of personalities who at-
tended an intimate reception
to mark the 55th birthday
of the president of the Fed-
eral German Republic, Wal-
ter Scheel.
The presence of Nachmann
and Ginsburgh was seen here
as a mark of friendship for
the Jewish community and
also, beyond it, for Israel, as
the community and its lead-
ers are Zionists.
