33,000 fans whooped it up ...
"Of all the people we have
to get stuck with sitting be-

Scott, "it had to be those
two girls who knoW every-
thing about baseball." Like
"We want Oakland to win
because their uniforms are
prettier" or "That pitcher is
mean, not letting him hit the
ball," etc.) . . . Long evening

AFTER • 18 YEARS di-
vorced from each other, Rose
and Lou Lover were recently
remarried . . . She had got-
ten ill and it seemed to bring
them together again . . .
But Rose and Lou never
were too far apart even with
the divorce . . . always talk-
ing to each other . . . and she
calling as to what time was
he coming for Sunday break-
fast .. . and telling him the
kind of bagels to bring.

"Where's dad? Tell him to
hurry over. The pipes broke
and are boiling over!" . . .
No time to change his clothes_
(and Esther wouldn't let him
anyway, being the instiga-

work overalls and tool box
. . . When they got to the
magnificent home of Dr. Nor-
Man and Sheila Bolton,
"B.B." and Esther walked
downstairs to the sumptuous
bar and_game rooms off the
patio where lie the supposed
broken pipe culprits . . • A
big SURPRISE greeted an

of Happy Birthday rang out

SOPHIE MELTZER never'
forgets ages of others and
supermarket prices . . . but
is most noted for her sending
of 'birthday cards to every-
one . . . This year, however,.
she's having trouble keeping
up with the staggering food
costs — they keep changing
all the time . . . and her 88th
birthday was not forgotten by
others as 35 folks watched
her blow out 16 candles, one
for each decade and eight
more for years . . . Happy
time was at home of daugh-
ter Lee - Mezer (Dr. Gilbert).
SCOTT SCHARG, 10-year-
