Book on Kissinger Brings Ouster Order for French Publisher

NEW YORK — A French
publisher h a s complained
that the State Department,
showing "political intoler-
ance," has ordered his ouster
from the U.S. because he is
publishing what has been de-
scribed as a "vile pornogra-
phic book" entitled "Presi-
dent Kissinger."
Maurice Girodias told the
New York Times that he has
protested the State Depart-
ment order in a letter to
Kissinger. Girodias insisted
that the book, scheduled for

publication in J u n e, is
"neither pornographic nor
derogatory" but "a work of
`political fiction' which can
only be seen as a vibrant
homage to your political
intuitions."

Girodias to leave the U.S. by
mid-June. He said Girodias
is an illegal alien and has
permission to remain in this'
country only through Janu-
ary.

A State Department
spokesman said the depart-
ment had taken no action
concerning Girodias, but a
criminal investigator with the
Immigration and Naturaliza-
tion Service confirthed that
the bureau h a d ordered
