Gov. Milliken has pro-
claimed today as Project
HOPE Day in the state of
Michigan.
The Detroit women's divi-
sion for Project HOPE
(Health Opportunity for Peo-
ple Everywhere) will hold
its annual fund-raising event,
the "Wheels for HOPE" Ball,
today at the Raleigh House
under the chairmanship of
Mrs. Herbert J. Bloom.
In his proclamation, Milli-
ken said "The men and
women of HOPE have served
with great personal sacri-
fice, pioneering new concepts
in the use of allied and basic
health personnel; helping to
establish new schools of nurs-
ing, dentistry and physical
therapy; assisting in the de-
velopment of existing teach-
ing institutions; working in
hospitals to teach and imple-
ment improved methods of
patient care; and helping to
expand_ public health ef-
forts."
