implement a new type of dis-
cussion between board and
sisterhood members on June
10 and 11. A series of four
small "coffee and conversa-
tion" gatherings will be held
at the homes of board mem-
bers, prior to which sister-

mailed survey to be filled
out and returned.

Flint Lodge of Bnai Brith
will honor Louis Kasle for
his devotion to the Flint Jew-
ish community at the lodge's
second annual dinner-dance
June 9 at Country Squire.

Torah Fund luncheon chair-

Israel. The highlight will be
performances by Norris
Branstrom, recently seen as
Tevye in the Flint Commun-
ity Players' "Fiddler on the
Roof," and William Bern-
hard, local violinist. Hostess

Leah Wolin and her commit-
tee. There will be a baby-
sitter in attendance. Purpose
of the luncheon is to raise
funds to support the Mathilde
Schechter Residence Hall at
the Jewish Theological Semi-

U.S. Senator William Brock of Tennessee, chairman of
the national Republican senatorial committee, and Sister
Dorothy Folliard of the Interfaith Council for Soviet Jewry
will address the Solidarity Day for Soviet Jewry gathering
3:30 p.m. Sunday on the steps of the State Capitol in Lansing.
The Solidarity Day, part of a nationwide effort, is designed
to demonstrate to Soviet authorities that the plight of Soviet
Jewry has the sympathy of a broad spectrum of the Ameri-
can people. Flint residents will meet at 1 p.m. at Cong.
Beth Israel to form a family caravan to Lansing.

at a recent banquet, honored
teams and individuals for
their bowling performances
this season.
First place team was No.
3 — Sandy Reznick, Rae
Mason, Fran Bronzetti and
Sandra Kahrnoff; sec on d
place, No. 8 — Toni Nathan-
son, Barbara Yale, Judy
Biesman, Estelle Hartman
and Sonie Schafer; and third
No. 4 — Golda Shapiro, Mol-
lie Epstein, Darilyn Suber,
Helen Kruger and Violet
Baumgarten.
Team 3 also won awards
for one-game high with a
score of 851, and for a three-
game high with a score of
2358.
Individual trophies , went to
Sandra Kahrnoff for one-
game high actual-202, and
three game high with handi-
cap — 661. Toni Nathanson
won for a three-game high
actual of 509 and a one-game
high with handicap with 265.
Officers for next year's
bowling season were elected.
They are: President, Bar-
bara Yale; vice-president,
Estelle Hartman; secretary,
Marla Stone; and treasurer,

Picks Senior Staff

Ellen Levey, Roberta
Beren, Steve Wexler and
Leonard Fink have been
selected as senior counselors
at the Flint Jewish Commu-
nity Council's Camp Macca-
bee this summer.
Miss Levey, a senior at
the University of Michigan,
was confirmed at Temple
Beth El in 1969, has spent
two summers in Israel and
recently returned from a stay
in Portugal. She has also
taught Hebrew at Temple
Beth El.
Miss Beren, a returning
counselor to Maccabee, is a
junior.

versity, a confirmand of
Temple Beth El in 1970 and
was an assistant Sunday
school teacher in 1971.
Wexler, also a returning
counselor, will graduate from
Valley School in June and
attended religious school at
Temple Beth El.
Leonard Fink, a former
Maccabee counselor, was Bar
Mitzvaed at Cong. Beth Is-
rael and attended the Uni-
versity of Michigan — Flint.
Fink has taught in the
Head S t a r t program and
taught creative dramatics
for the Mott Community pro-
grams. He also has been a
Hashahar youth group leader.
