nounced this week that a new
date has been set by the or-
ganizing committee June 24

Dr. Charles R. Kleeman,
noted physician from the
Hadassah-Hebrew University
Medical School in Israel, will
be at the Detroit Medical
Center, May 9-14, as hon-
orary chief of the depart-
ment of medicine at Hutzel
Hospital and visiting profes-
sor of Wayne State Univer-
sity's department of medicine.
The visit was arranged by
Dr. A. Martin Lerner, chief
of the department of medi-
cine at Hutzel Hospital and
professor at Wayne State
University School of Medi-
cine with which the hospital
is affiliated as a teaching
unit.

DR. CHARLES KLEEMAN

Dr. Kleeman, a native
Californian, will also teach
at the School of Medicine
and Detroit General and the
Veterans Administration hos-
pitals. He will participate in
bedside instruction of medi-
cal students and the super-
vision of medical care of
selected patients.
He will speak at 10 a m.,
May 11 in the Hutzel Hospital
auditorium on "Medical Edu-
cation and Medical Care in
Israel." In his other lectures
he will discuss glandular and
kidney disorder.
Educated at the University
of - California and Yale Uni-
versity, Dr. Kleeman spent
four months in Israel in 1968
as a visiting professor at Tel
Aviv University Medical
School and the Hadassah-
Hebrew University Medical
School. He emigrated to Is-
rael in June 1972, leaving
positions as vice chairman
of the department of medi-
cine at the University of Cali-
fornia Medical Center and
director of the division of
medicine • at Cedars-S i n a i
Medical Center, Los Angeles.
In 1960 and 1961 he was an
Upjohn Scholar of the En-
docrine Society working with
Dr. Hugh Dayson at Univer-
sity College, London, Eng-
