Israel Independence Day
will be observed at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek with a brief
ceremony and address 8:30
p.m. Wednesday.
Dr. Bernard Mandelbaum,
president of the America-
Israel Cultural Foundation,
will discuss "Toward Israel's
Golden Anniversary — the
Next 25 Years."
'Dr. Mandelbaum who was
ordained at the Jewish Theo-

logical Seminary, was its
president until 1973. His field
was homiletics and medieval
Hebrew literature.
Former program director
of the radio and television
Eternal Light series, he also
has been an editor of classic
Jewish texts and the author
of articles on ethics and mod-
ern Judaism. His best-known
book is the anthology "Choose
Life."

Concerto No. 5 in the Jewish
