a two-part financial seminar
sponsored by the women's
committee of the Endowment
Program of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation-United Jew-
ish Charities, April 30 in the
East Tower penthouse of
North Park Towers.
Mrs. Robert M. Zell, who
heads the women's commit-
tee, announced that Andrew
L. Camden, an assistant trust
officer of the National Bank
of Detroit, an attorney Albert
M. Colman will speak at 9:45
a.m.
The morning will be of

Dr. Moses D. Tendler, pro-
fessor of biology at Yeshiva
University and a member of
the board of directors of the
American Committee for
Shaare Zedek Hospital, will
address the annual dinner of
the Detroit Friends for the
Jerusalem medical center
May 19 at Young Israel Cen-
ter of Oak-Woods.
Dr. Tendler has been in-
volved in the extention pro-
gram of the present hospital
and in the development of
the new Shaare Zedek Medi-
cal Center. He will give an
up-to-date report on progress
of the dialysis - unit, the life-
saving project taken on by
the Detroit group.

Both Camden and Colman
are members of the endow-
ment committee, which man-
ages the bequests, family
funds and endowment funds
left to the Jewish Welfare
Federation and to United
Jewish Charities to provide
for the future needs of the
corn munity.
Colman also is associate
chairman of Federation's ed-
ucation budget and planning
division.
The second session of the
financial seminar for women
will occur 7:45 p.m. May 14
at the United Hebrew Schools
main building. That meeting,
at which the speakers will be
attorney Miles Jaffe and Dr.
Martha Seger, vice president
and economist of the Detroit
Bank and Trust Co., will con-
cern the management of fam-
ily economics while children
are still being raised. Chair-
ing that evening session for
parents will be Mr. and Mrs.
Jerome Acker.
Women are welcome at
either or both sessions, ac-
cording to Mrs. Zell. There
is a registration fee but one
registration will suffice for
husbands and wives attending
the family money manage-
ment evening May 14.

assistant professor in Tal-
mud at the Yeshiva U:-
affiliated Rabbi Isaac El-
chanan Theological Seminary
where he was ordained. Dr.
Tendler is the discoverer of
a new chemical, Anthramy-
cin, being evaluated for the
treatment of advanced in-
operable cancer.
While holding the aca-
demic posts concurrently, he
has also, since 1960, been
director of the National Sci-
ence Foundation summer
training program for high-
ability secondary students at
Yeshiva University.
An organizer and first
spiritual leader of the Great
Neck Synagogue, Long Is-
land, he was installed as
spiritual leader of the Mon-
sey, N. Y., Community Syna-
gogue in 1967.
Dr. Tendler is married to
the former Sifra Feinstein,
daughter of the renowned
talmudist Rabbi Moshe Fein-
stein.

national scene. She is chair-
man of the Hadassah History
Book.

Mrs. Epstein are Drs. Eli
Brown and Richard' Kamil,
both of whom will relate their
experiences while at Hadas-
sah Medical Center in Jeru-
salem.

sponsor an Israeli film night
8:15 p.m. Tuesday at the
Shiawassee Hotel.
Two 25-minute color sound
films recently produced in
Israel, will be shown for the
first time in Detroit.
"Yom Kippur -War" traces
the developments leading up
the October war and
stresses the military and
strategic aspects of Israel's
frontiers. It includes news-
reel shots, pictures by press
photographers and scenes
from the front.
"Challenge' and Response"
features many aspects of Is-
rael's industry today and was
made under the auspices of
the ministry of education and
culture with the cooperation
of the ministries of com-
merce, industry and finance.
Production of this film was
started prior to the October
war and completed after-
ward.
A representative of the Is-
rael government will com-
ment. The meeting is open
to the community, at no
charge. Refreshments will be
served.
