The Oakway Symphony
will perform 4 p.m. Sunday
at Southfield-Lathrup High
School, with Mischa Mischa-
koff as guest soloist.
It,lischakoff will perform
the Bruch Violin Concerto in
G minor. Before his long ca-
reer as concertmaster with
the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra, he was concertmas-
ter with the NBC Symphony
Orchestra under Arturo Tos-
canini for 15 years.
Conducting the orchestra
will be Francesco Di Blasi,
a native Detroiter, who plays
trumpet for the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra, a post he
has held for 10 years. Sidney
Colman of Southfield is con-
certmaster with the Oakway
Sym phony.
The Oakway Symphony, an
orchestra of 85 members,
was formed in 1972 with
DiBlasi as conductor.
