The Federation of Interna-

The little state of Israel
may haver:to borrow a bas-
ketball player or two or three
from the U. S. to compete in-
ternationally, but when it
comes to soccer, forget it.
Israel can more than hold its
own on the pitch and showed
its prowess when the National
team zonked a U.S.A. All-
Star eleven 3-1 in Jaffa's
Bloomfield Stadium.
Mark you, after lack of
practice and get together
since before the Yom Kippur
War, Israel's finest, fresh

bined to trounce a select
American eleven. The contest
marked the resumption of

sports competition in the be-
leaguered Holy Land.

Israel is finding it more
difficult each month to com-
pete against foreigners. Al-
most every European coun-
try begs off in hosting Israe-

involved in security. Con-
versely, the fear of possible

scares these same Continental
teams from visiting Israel,

SET YOUR SAILS FOR A NEW ADVENTURE IN DINING

MISHMASH: Dave Zinkoff,
announcer for Philadelphia
NBA games since the incep-
tion of the pro loop, is being
honored shortly in Kansas
City and Omaha by hoop fans
for his excellent announcing
and devotion to the game.
The Zink, as he is referred to
around the circuit, has a
unique manner of announcing
that has been copied by many
but mastered by none. Over
the years Zink has given
away thousands of salamis at
Philly Warrior and 76ers
games. Yes, salamis. During

At one time, one of the

resistance to this sort of
thinking.

South Carolina advises us de-

parents and those in Israel
who blessed their children on

marched and rode away to
defend their land, their cul-
ture and heritage.
