Ninth Synagogue Opens for Soviet Olim

NEW YORK — The ninth
synagogue for 'Russian Olim
in Israel was opened by the
Russian Immigrant Rescue
Fund at a dedication in
Ra'anana.
The new synagogue will be
utilized for immigrants from
Georgia and Bukhara. Fam-

leaders and a delegation from
the United States, which
brought over a number of
Sifrei Torah for the use of
the immigrant communities.
A group of Bukharan rabbis
and hahamim came from
Natanya to join the festivities.
A leader of the local Buk-
hara community, Moshiach
Yitchakub, appealed to the
religious community to assist
them in solving their prob-
lems. "We lacked nothing in
Tashkent, Bukhara," he said.
"We came up to the Holy
Land only so that we and our
children can remain true
Jews in the spirit of Torah.
In Russia we suffered prison
for our beliefs, but we were
not frightened by threats and
imprisonment. We have only
one request now—help us ful-
fill our wish".

Kfar Masaryk, a 40-year-
old kibutz near Acre, will
begin exporting color TV sets
at the end of the year.
