Olive Ruth (Traxler) Linx,
manager of the Silver Hat
Shop, a downtown millinery
store for 30 years, died Aug.
3 at age 82. She had retired
several years ago. Over the
years, she had been active
in Temple Beth El.
The mother-in-law of Wil-
liam Ross, publisher of the
Dearborn Guide, Mrs. Linx
lived in the Belcrest Hotel.
A native of Port Huron, she
lived most of her life in De-
troit.
Surviving are a son, Ed-
mund Jr. of Cleveland; a
brother, David Traxler of

Bernard Farber, a long-
time Detroit area jeweler,
died Aug. 1 while on one of
his frequent visits to Los
Angeles. He was 73.
Mr. Farber, 23701 Church,
Oak Park, spent half of his
time in Los Angeles and
Toledo since his retirement
in 1966. He had worked part-
time ever since. Born in
Toledo, he came to Detroit
in his early 20s and founded
Queen Jewelers in Redford
in 1946.
He leaves his wife, Anne;,
two daughters, Mrs. Harry
(Gloria) Michalson and Mrs.
Bernard (Lois) Morrison,
both of Detroit; a sister, Mrs.
Esther Cannon of Toledo;
five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Inter-

that Elise Brickner, 17-year-
old daughter of Rabbi Bal-
