Community Service at Beth El
Commemorates Warsaw Ghetto

A community service held
recently at Temple Beth El
commemorated the 30th an-
niversary • of the Warsaw
Ghetto Uprising and featured
the exhibit "The Holocaust
and Resistance

Leslie Silberman.

The exhibit was brought to
Flint under the auspices of
the Flint Jewish Community
Council and also was shown
at General Motors Institute,
Flint Public Library, St.
Michael's Church and Salem
Lutheran Church.
Rev. Roger Sharpe of
Woodside Church spoke on
"Man's Inhumanity to Man."
Officiating at the service
were Rabbi Gilbert Kollin of
Cong. Beth Israel and Rabbi
Gerald Schuster of Temple
Beth El.
Dr. Jack Stanzler urged
the Jewish community to
join those who have agreed
to have the council send out
public opinion telegrams to
political figures in response
to emergency issues. To join
this plan, contact the council
office, 767-5922.

Temple Beth El Sisterhood
president, assisted by Mes-
dames Louis Epstein, Robert
Mitchell, Emil Shupack and
Jerry Yale, prepared the

the exhibit.

Council's boys' baseball team
won its recent game by a
score of 2-5 over North Flint
Nazarene. The next game
will be 6 p.m. today (make-
up game) at Bassett Park,
and 6 p.m. Monday, Bassett
Park.

The men's baseball team
suffered its first loss of the
season with a score of 11-12.
The next game will be 6 p.m.
Thursday at the Armory No.
3.

Fatal Quarrel Suspected in Death of Father

JERUSALEM — A mother
of nine has been arrested on
suspicion of murdering her
husband. Thirty - nine - year-
old Shoshana Mizrachi called

an ambulance and explained
to the driver that her hus-
band, Reuven, 50, had stab-
bed himself while peeling
cucumbers. However, the

police think she knifed him
herself during a quarrel. The
nine children are in the care
of the city's social welfare
department.
