Hebrew Studies Up

NEW YORK (JTA)—Total
enrollment in Hebrew classes
in public high schools
throughout the United States
has increased by two-thirds,
from 3,267 students in 1970 to
6,018 in 1972-73, the National
Hebrew Culture Council re-
ported.
The number of public
high schools offering Hebrew
courses has grown to 116
from 64 three years ago.

Dr. Judah Lapson, execu-

past three years, raising to
67 the total number of such
communities.

He listed 21 communities' of-

first time at the start of the
1972-73 school year.
The communities listed in-
eluded Oak Park and South-
field, Mich.
The council estimated the
outlay by local governments
to fund Hebrew language in-
struction for the 6,108 stu-

HUNTSVJLLE, Ala. —
Joseph G. Blumrich, an of-
ficial at a space flight center
here, said that the "whirl-
wind: out of the north" the
prophet Ezekiel saw in the
6th Century BC was a space-
ship.
Blumrich said the "whirl-
wind" was a large rocket
ship with four helicopter
rotors descending from a
mother ship in earth orbit.
The description, as it ap-
pears in the first chapter in
the old testament book of
Ezekiel, says a "whirlwind
came out of the north, a
great cloud and a fire un-
folding itself, and a bright-
ness was about it."
"My conclusion is that it
was what we call a shuttle
vehicle," said Blumrich, who
has a book on the subject
coming out' in 'Gerniany.
