Saluted on 60th
Turning 60 is an occasion for
any man, but when Detroiter Paul
Zuckerman, general chairman of
the United Jewish Appeal, turned
60 recently, he received the saluta-

ities, including Golda Meir.
The prime minister wrote Zuck-

"The age of 60 is not only a half
way mark to 120 but indeed the
prime of life, where the wisdom
of the past and the energies of
the present create the perfect
balance. We know that vou will
need to command all your wisdom
and energy to the enormous task
that you are so ably performing
in marshaling Jewish solidarity
and resources for the noblest

Detroiters to Join JNF
Project for Lydda Victims
The memory of 26 pilgrims slain
at Israel's Lydda Airport May 30
will be enshrined in a grove of
1,000 trees to be planted by the
greater Detroit Jewish community.
According to David P. Zack,
president of the Jewish National
Fund, the grove will be located
at the John F. Kennedy Memorial
and Peace Forest in the Judean
Hills outside Jerusalem.
The decision to plant the grove
followed announcement by Jacob
Stein, chairman of the President's
Conference of Major Jewish Or-
ganizations, and Meyer Pesin,
president of the Jewish National
Fund of America, that a woodland
would be planted at the Kennedy
site.
The dedication of Detroit's 1,000-
tree grove will take place in the
near future, according to Zack.
For information, call the Jewish
National Fund office, 968-0820.
