thur Fausner, a 49-year-old Jew
who used the premises as a
lumber warehouse. Fauser also
purchased the community cen-
ter, converting it to a six-family
apartment house which he sold
to German businessmen in 1971.

HAMLET AND THE BIBLE
Recent scholarship has found
more biblical material in Shake-
speare than was customary in past
years. In this book, just published,
"Hamlet and The Word," Prof.!
Harold Fisch looks at the great
play in the light of the Biblical
Covenant.
Prof. Fisch is a member of the
department of English at Bar-Ilan

The Weizmann Institute of Sci-
ence in Rehovot recently adopted
an austerity budget.
The Bar-Ilan financial commit-
tee has recommended a $12.600.000
budget which reflects a severe
pruning of departmental and ad-
ministrative expenses. While the
budget is up 53,100,000 from last
year, the increase reflects higher
prices and natural growth.
A special ulpan for recent Rus-
sian immigrant students is being
established by Bar-Ilan U. in co-
peration with the student adminis-
tration of the ministry of absorp-
tion. The ulpan will free Russian
students who have studied in insti-
tutions of higher learning in the
USSR but did not finish because
of their desire to come to Israel.
Thus they be given a chance to
complete their studies.
