BEING BUILT ON MOUNT SCOPUS
Forty hotels comprising 6,739
roams are under construction in
Israel at sites ranging from Haifa
to Eilat
One of the largest is the 16-
story Hyatt Regency Jerusalem
Hotel being built on Mount Scopus
in Jerusalem. The hotel complex,
which will include a 414-room lux-
ury hotel, convention facilities,
swimming pool, tennis courts, res-
taurants and cocktail lounge over-
looking the city, is scheduled for
completion in late 1973. A 200-unit
condominium will be added later.
El ItAl Israel Airlines also will
be en tructing hotels to meet the
pressing need for additional hotel
space in Israel. Five are sched-
uled in the four- to five-star cate-
gory with a total capital expendi-
ture of $40,000,000 Two will be
built in Tel Aviv with a total of
900 rooms, one in Jerusalem with
500 rooms, one in Eilat, with 400
rooms and tne in Nahariya with
250 rooms.
Total hotel construction in Is-
rael over the next few years in-
cludes 13 hotels to he completed
in 1972, adding 1.906 rooms, 21
hotels with 3,000 rooms to be com-
pleted in 1973, and nine hotels
with 2.000 rooms scheduled for
completion in 1974.
