8th Grade
Mr. Weizman's eighth grade
Bible class has just completed
learning about King Solomon from
the "First Book of Kings."
The class decided it would be
a good idea to perform a trial to
decide whether Solomon's deeds
proved him guilty or innocent. So
last Wednesday, the class held a
trial. Reva Soberman was the king.
Defending King Solomon were
Karen Freedland and Andrea
Schnipper. On the side against the
king were Robert Mames, Robert
Schwartz and David Rosen. The
rest of the class was called as
witnesses.
The seventh grade, wha was the
jury, voted King Solomon innocent.

Mediterranean Fleet Reportedly
Favored by Laird to Match NATO
WASHINGTON (JTA) — Sec-
retary of Defense Melvin R.
Laird has proposed that the De-
fense Planning Committee of the
North Atlantic Treaty Organiza-
tion (NATO) organize in the east-
ern Mediterranean "something
analogous" to the NATO fleet
operating in the Atlantic, accord-
ing to State Department spokes-
refused to give specific details
about it. But it is understood that
the purpose of a NATO fleet in
the eastern Mediterranean would
be to supplement the U.S. 'Sixth
Fleet there and help offset Soviet
naval strength in the area.
Bray said the proposal was made
by Laird at the NATO conference
two weeks ago and that it is now
under study by the NATO com-
mittee. Bray, who revealed the in-
