Zeltzer to Explore
`Jeirish Continuity'
With AJCommittee

of the American Jewish Commit-
tee "brain trust" that was formed
to explore Jewish communal prob-
lems in America, will address the
AJC Detroit Chapter 8 p.m. Thurs-

Zeltzer, who will discuss "Jew-
ish Continuity in America," was
one of two Detroiters on the 100-

Zeltzer, an attorney. and presi-
dent of Anierican Savings and
Loan, has been active in the Allied
Jewish Campaign, - is past presi-
dent of the United Hebrew Schools,
vice president of the:Jewish Com-
munity Council, member of the ex-
ecutive committee of the Jewish
Welfare Federation and chairman
of its education division.
He also served as president of
the Sholern Aleichem Institute„
vice president of the board of the
National - Foundation for Jewish
Culture and many other offices.

Rising Enrollment Likely
at NY Hebrew Schools .

NEW YORK --- Hebrew. , •dat,
schools in- the greater New York
metropolitan area offering a com-
bined program of religious and
secular studies, expect a fall en-
rollment of about 53.300 students
—an increase of nearly 2 per cent
over last year.
These statistics were provided
by Torah Umesorah, the Na-
tional Society. for Hebrew Day
SchooLs.
Dr. Joseph Kaininetsky, national
director of-Torah Umesorah, and
Rabbi Bernard GOIdenbeig, direc-
tor, department of school . organ-
ization, reported that all told, the
New York 'metropolitan area now
boasts 181 liebreW day schools,
an increase of six over last year.

SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR DELIGHTING YOUR GUESTS
SABRA ON-THE-ROCKS. Pour 2 oz. of Sabra over
ice cubes in an Old Fashioned glass.
SABRA SOUR. 2 oz. Sabra, 1 oz. lemon juice. Shake
with cracked ice and strain into whiskey sour glass.
SABRA ICE CREAM. Pour an ounce of Sabra over

ice cream.

SABRA HOLIDAY POUND CAKE. I

1 cup Butter
Ws cups Sugar
6 Eus
I Tsp. each—Vanilla Extract
Orange extract
.
Bum extract

vs Tsp. Lemon extract
3 cups sifted Cake Flour
Vs Tsp. Baking Soda (sift with flour)
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1 cop Soar Cream :
1/2 cup Sabra

Cream butter—add sugar gradually, beating well. Add eggs one at a time, beating
well after each addition. Add extracts. Alternate dry ingredients with sour cream
and Sabra, starting with and ending with flour. Pour into greased and floured tube
or bundt pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hr. to 1 hr. & 10 minutes, testing for consistency.
Cool and remove from pan.
If you desire more Sabra flavoring, use cake tester and pierce cake. Pour Sabra over
cake—several teaspoons—and let stand. Best If allowed to stand covered one day.
