Mrs. John L. Greenberg, chair-
man of the fall forum, said.
She pointed out that the two-day
forum would give women a chance
to see the agencies in person and
talk with those who administer
them as well as those who are
served.
The "Discovery" session on
Sept. 23 at 12:30 p.m. at the Jew-
ish Center will give paricipants a
chance to ask questions of a panel
of experts on what has been ob-
served.
Mrs. Greenberg said that the
exploration bus fare is nominal,
and she stated: "Bring a sandwich
to keen the pangs of hunger away,
and the women's division will fur-
nish a beverage during the tour."
Assisting Mrs. Greenberg on the
fall forum committee are Mrs.
Daniel Schechter, co-chairman;
Mrs. Bernard Stollman, secretary;
and Mesdames Ansel Aberly, My-
ron Attenson, Gary Eisenberg,
Milton Green, Thomas J. Gross-
man, Gerald Ingber, Thomas
Klein, Murray Kling, Richard
Komer, Myron LaBan, Stuart La-
Kind, Allan Pearlman, Leonard
Reider, Mark H. Saidman, George
Simmons, Harold Stulberg, Nor-
man Sussman, Joel Tauber, Floyd
Tukei, Seymour Weiner and Rob-
ert Weinstock.
Reservations for "Exploration
and Discovery" may be made by
calling the women's division, Jew-
ish Welfare Federation, WO 5-

SWEETEST EVER

MI *Good Friday, Saturday, Sunday

"Everything You Always Want-
ed to Know About Your Jewish
Community—But Never Asked!"
is the intriguing theme of the two-
day fall forum of the women's di-
vision of the Jewish Welfare
Federation.
A guided tour of the Jewish
community from the northern sub-
urbs will take place Sept. 16, and
an inside view of the community
through the eyes of those who
know intimately the problems it
faces is scheduled for the follow-
ing Thursday.
A bus will leave the United He-
brew Schools, 21550 W. 12 Mile,
at 10 a.m. on Sept. '16 to take tour-
ists to the Jewish Family and
Children's S e r v i c e, Community
Center, Home for Aged, the new
building of the Jewish Vocational
Service and Community Workshop,
and the Fred M. Butzel Memorial
Building, home of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation. The bus will re-
turn to the United Hebrew Schools
at 2:30 p.m.
"With the rapid change in the
Jewish community and its geogra-
phic shifting, problems of provid-
ing services in the areas where
they are needed are becoming
more and more of a problem,"

Preparing for the new format of the annual fall forum of the
women's division of the Jewish Welfare Federation, the committee
plans a "come-and-see" exploration of Detroit's Jewish agencies on
Sept. 16. Plotting the itinerary are (clockwise at the table) Mrs.
Thomas Grossman, Mrs. Myron LaBan, Mrs. John L. Greenberg,
chairman; Mrs. Bernard Stollman, secretary; Mrs. Norman Suss-
man, Mrs. Joel Tauber and Mrs. Harold Stulberg.

This cheese ball is handy when
you are expecting company. It
can be prepared several days in
advance and its taste improves
under refrigeration. The ball is
covered with chopped walnuts and
is lovely to look at. You can serve
the cheese ball at a cocktail party,
luncheon or at a "coffee and des-
sert get-together." Arrange around
the ball a variety of thin crackers
and fresh fruit. The pleasure will
be all yours.

8 ozs. cream cheese
8 ozs. very sharp cheddar type cheese
1 small onion
1 /2 bell pepper
2 tbls. •brandy
1 tsp. salt
1 /2 tsp. white pepper
Dash red hot pepper (optional)
, /z cup chopped walnuts
Allow
the cream cheese to reach
1.
room temperature. Grate the cheddar
cheese on a very fine grater. Peel
the onion and chop it very finely.
Chop the bell pepper into small
cubes.
2. Mix the cheese with the onion and
pepper. Add salt, pepper, brandy and
mix well. Chill in the refrigerator
till it hardens enough to form a ball.
3. Form a ball and roll it in the chopped
walnuts. Try to cover the ball com-
pletely. Put the ball on an aluminum
foil big enough to wrap the ball.
Wrap the ball and chill for six hours
or overnight.
