Giving 'Never Meant More...

On the eve of the closing of the
1971 Flint United Jewish Appeal
campaign, chairman Murray Moss
issued this appeal:
"In 1971, it never meant more
. . . because they need us as never
before.
"They need us in Israel, where
hostile neighbors have forced our
fellow Jews to tax their own re-
sources in the name of self de-
fense.
"They need us in many other
lands—in Russia, in Europe, in

The American Association for
Jewish Education assisted in the
development of guidelines, evalua-
tions and the establishment of a
periodic consultation visit to the
schools. Since this time, several
consultants have visited the schools
and have submitted their evalua-
tion to the commission on Jewish
education.
Based upon their recommend-
ations and evaluations, the com-

cow of Flint was elected to a
third term as president. Vied pres-

its commission on Jewish educa-

of Jewish education in the religious

ris Pelavin was able to formulate
plans and suggested changes for
the schools so as to achieve high-
er standards.
The latest visit was by Rabbi
Leonard Schoolman of the Union
of American Hebrew Congrega-
tions. He spoke to teachers of both
schools, visited classes, compiled
an evaluation paper and reported
to the commission on his findings.
Rabbi Schoolman's report included
suggestions for combining certain
grades into joint -sessions, intro-
duction of the value-centered
teaching concept and suggestions
for teacher training.
The commission has taken the
report under consideration.

Prosecuting Attorney Leonard
Relates Experiences in USSR

Bnai Brith Women will hold a
paid-up luncheon 12:30 p.m. Tues-
day at the home of Membership
Vice President Sandra Kahrnoff,

will be the theme at the luncheon,
at which a salad bar will be pro-
vided by old and new board mem-

Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary
paid a visit to Caro State Home
and Training School. Chairman
Barbara Yale and Sue Kalmar
serviced 50 girls. They were told
of several items the auxiliary can
present as a donation to the home.

mittee on aging, Genesee Council
of Social Agencies, has been in-
vited by Gov. Milliken to serve as
a delegate to the Michigan White
House Conference on Aging in Lan-
sing. Delegates to this conference
Tuesday will determine final po-
licy proposals for presentation and
.consideration at the White House
Conference on Aging.
