Israel Plans to Export
Computer Equipment

HAIFA (ZINS)—A Haifa firm,
Albit Computers, soon will begin
manufacturing and exporting com-
puter equipment, according to an
announcement by the Israel So-
ciety of Electrical Engineers.
A controling interest in the com-
pany has been acquired by the
U.S. computer firm Control Data,
by the purchase of shares from
the Israel government at a cost in
excess of $1,000,000.
Acquisition of this holding by
an American firm implies that
Israel has already developed nec-
essary scientific and technical
facilities to manufacture the ap-
paratus.
