PIETRO'S (formerly Hugo's) in
the Park Shelton Hotel, Kirby
at Woodward, is directly amidst
the heart of Detroit's Cultural Cen-
ter . . . surrounded by the Art In-
stitute, Historical Museum and li-
brary . . . Thursday and Friday
nights at Pietro's are opera nights
. . . Grand opera on Thursdays,
and light opera, show tunes, etc.
on Fridays . . . Bernie Katz is at
the piano . . . with songsters Faye
Turner, Susanne La Croix, Bob
Rue and Bob Angus . . . The
French-Italian dishes at Pietro's
are exceptionally good!
FOR UNUSUAL MEXICAN food

NEW CHANGES in "Bald" at the
Zotliac Theater on Northwestern
and 12 Mile Rd., have made this
entertaining musical revue a must
to see again. About 65 per cent
B changes
have been made since its
B opening Dec. 11 . . Now a trio
plays instead of piano only . . .

tion, a Jewish mother, etc. . . . If

called Involtini, sometimes known
as veal roll-ups, can be gotten at
Alvaro's on 14. Mile near Crooks
Rd. . . . Few places serve this
delicious dish properly . . . Also
mighty tasty at Alvaro's is the
Scaloppine a la Marengo, made up
of cubes of veal, green olives,
onion, tomatoes, garlic and Italian
wine.

EXCELLENT CUISINE is the
keynote at Black Forest Inn, S.
Washington at 11 Mile Rd. in Royal
Oak . . . The salad bar with over
40 items on it has become the talk
of Michigan . . . with folks com-
ing from all over to see the spec-
tacular set-up . . . The two large
dining rooms and bar are down-
stairs, while tipstairs from 25 to
400 people can be accommodated
in the beautiful banquet area
Black Forest Inn is the dewest

restaurant in the area . . . and
features a complete continental
menu that is most delightful.
ANSWERS TO QUERIES .
Miniumum 15 per cent of a check
is the usual tip, however, 20 per
cent is given for very good service
. . . Rear- why its better not to
leave bills on the table is because
the inducement is great for others
to pick them up (even other cus-
tomers!) ... When food is brought
cold its usually the fault of the
person serving it . . . who takes
too much time picking up the order
and bringing it to you ... you can
be sure that none want the repu-
tation of serving cold food!
