When Shlomo Moshkovich celebrated his 100th birthday recent-
ly', his most cherished gift was a surprise two-week visit from his
son, ShImon. The elder Mr. Moshkovich came to Israel from Ro-
mania 13 years ago and has been living ever since at the JDC/Malben
Home for the Aged in Rishon Le'Zion. His son, 70, still makes his
home In Romania. His visit was the first time the two, shown above,
had seen each other since 1957. At a small birthday party given by
his friends Mr. Moshkovich announced that 'he was presenting a
glft of 109 pounds to the children's ward at Essaf Harofe HospitaL
He saved the money, he explained, from a small monthly grant
from a European philanthropic fund plus the pocket money given
each JDC/Malben resident, most of whom are without family- or
friends.
