With its annual New Books for
Old Sale set for Sept. 10-16 at
Northland Center, Detroit Chapter,
Brandeis University National Wom-
en's Committee, is intensifying its
efforts to reach a goal of 60,000
donated books by designating Aug.
2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., as drop-
off day.
Three stations will be set up,
according to Mrs. Arthur Rice and
Mrs. Alvin Barnett, general chair-
man: one at the Bloomfield Plaza,
to be manned by Mr. and Mrs. Sy
liaboy, graduates of Brandeis Uni-
versity: at the Lincoln Center
Mall ( Etkin Travel), run by Mar-

Judith Shipper was united in mar-
riage with Gary Stewart Moss.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Shipper of King-
shire Rd., Southfield, and Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Moss of Westland Ave.,
Southfield.
The bride wore a gown of silk
cloud peau de soie with jeweled
embroidered Alencon lace styled
with high neck and long sleeves
and attached chapel-length train.
A matching jeweled lace toque
held the bouffant veil of silk illu-
sion. The bride carried her con-
firmation Bible adorned with Phal-
aenopsis, roses and Stephanotis.

Mrs, Allan Shepherd, sister of
the bridegroom, was matron of
honor. Tobye Shipper, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Andrea Hob-
erman. Mrs. Steven Spector, Gail
Kerwin and Bonnie Garvin.
Paula Shipper,: younger sister of
the bride, waslunior bridesmaid.
Robin Shepherd was flower girl.

Attending Mr. Moss were Allen
Shepherd as best man. Stewart
Shipper, the bride's brother, Allan
and Norman Greenfield, Robert
Ruskin, Mark Levitt and Stanley
Swartz of Phoenix.
Also in the bridal party were the
bride's grandfather, Edward Ship-
per. and grandmother, Mrs. Louis
Hoberman, escorted by her son Sol
M. Hoberman.
The newlyweds left for a honey-
moon in Rome and London.

JNF Study 3lission
Carries 45 to Israel

Forty-five Detroit area residents
the Jewish National
comprise
Fund's third annual pilgrimage
and study mission to Israel, which
left Detroit July 13.
The group is spending 15 days in
Israel and three days in London.
The Jewish National Fund is per-
sonally supervising the tour and
showing many of its achievements
in Israel.
Included are frontier settlements,
agricultural developments; forests
and various out-of-the-way projects.

books, religion, humanities, law,
medicine, encyclopedias and fic-
tion.

Miss Schlaff Prepares
for January Ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smaller of
Marlow Ave., Oak Park, announce
the engagement of their daughter,
Diane Roslyn, to Harvey Jason
Zameck, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Aaron Zameck of Whitmore Rd.
Miss Smaller is a graduate of the
University of Michigan, and her
fiance holds degrees from Wayne
State University and the Univer-
sity of Michigan's law school. A
summer wedding is planned.
