Samuel Goldwyn Gives
$500,000 to Brandeis for
Life Sciences Studies

WALTHAM, Mass.—The Samuel
Goldwyn Foundation of Los Ange-
les has awarded Brandeis Univer-
sity a $500,000 grant to provide !
scholarships for graduate students
studying the life sciences.
Preference for the Samuel Gold-
wyn Life Sciences Scholarships will
be given to foreign-born applicants
in need of financial aid, seeking
advanced study in the United
States. Motion picture pioneer
Samuel Goldwyn, for whom the
scholarship is named, came to the
United States from Poland at age
14. He now wishes to assist deserv-
ing students who lack, as he did,
the necessary financial resources
to further their higher education.
The program will provide five
full scholarships of $7,500 each per
year. The first five are being i
awarded for the forthcoming fall

semester,

The :Verde wrote the book!

We're talking about those wonderful fun things people love to
do right out in the open.'Things like a round of golf, a brisk dip.
Games like that. Made more enticing because of the sunny sur-
roundings, the glowing good spirits, all around you. And we're
all for night games, too. Laughter-laden entertainment and
dreamy dancing. Sparkling night-into-morning enchantment in
our Safari Lounge. Sound like your kind of vacation? The name
of the game is The Nevele. Shouldn't you book now?
