Leadership Affair Set

host a leadership buffet dinner on
behalf of Shaarit Ilaplayta (Sur-
vivors of 1945) in their home, 15690

Henry Levy. former JDC director
in Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria and
North Africa. will be guest speak -
er. Dr. John J. Mames is presi-
dent of Shaarit Ilaplayta. The af-
fair is on behalf of Israel Bonds.
The leadership reception dinner
is being held in advance of the
annual Shaarit Haplayta dinner-
dance, scheduled in spring. The
organization, composed of Hol-
ocaust survivors, has been in the
forefront in support of Israel and
the Israel Bond campaign.

In a recent ceremony at Temple
Israel. Susan Jane Linden became
the bride of Richard Lezell. Rabbis
Leon Fram and M. Robert Syme
and Cantors Harold Orbach and
Reuven Frankel officiated.
Parents of the couple are Judge
and Mrs. Joseph S. Linden of
Owosso. and Dr. and Mrs. Alvin
Lezell of Bellwood Dr., Southfield.

The bride's A-line gown of peau
de sole, covered with imported
lace and seed pearls, featured a
square neckline. The attached
train and matching headpiece
were covered with matching lace
and pearls. She carried roses on
a Bible.
Attending the bride were her sis-
ters. Mrs. Jeffrey Leib, matron of
honor; Marcia Linden, maid of
honor; and Mindy Linden, brides-
maid. Susan and Laurie Lezell,
sisters of the bridegroom, also
served as bridesmaids.
Steven Lezell served his brother
as best man, and groomsmen in-
cluded Jack Upfall, Ira Alexander,
Gordon Schlom and Jeffrey Leib.
Ushers were Sandford and Allen
Linden, Howard Linden and Law-
rence Arnkoff.
After a honeymoon in the Cat-
' skill Mountains, the couple will re-
side in Ann Arbor, where Mr.
Lezell attends the University of
Michigan Dental School.

State of Israel's Lady Ambassador to Denmark
to Adress Bond Sponsor Luncheon and Show

Esther Herlitz, ambassador of
the state of Israel to Denmark, will
be guest speaker at the Israel
Bond Sponsor Re-enrollment Lunch-
ecin and Fashion Show Feb. 4 at
the Great Lakes Club.
Mrs.:Samuel Hamburger will he
luncheon chairman. Mrs. Morris
L. Schaver is Israel Bond Wom-
en's Division chairman, and Mrs.
David Pollack Israel Bond sponsor
chairman.
There will be an exclusive dis-
play of high fashion by America's
leading designers, with Sam Card-
inal as commentator. The sponsor
emblem will be presented to 1970
paid sponsors by Ambassador Her-
litz.
Miss Ilerlitz was stationed in
the United States from 1950 to
1958 as first secretary of the
Israel Embassy in Washington
and ,later, as consul of Israel in
New York. She was also a mem-
ber of the Israel delegation to the
United Nations.

Miss Ilerlitz participated in the
1950 conference in Jerusalem which
