ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTLY AFTER 2 A.M.

HELEN TALAREK, third grade
teacher at St. Christopher Catholic
School, takes The Jewish News
each week and uses it in her
classes . . . Recent class instruc-
tion and discussion was on Pass-
over, matzos, etc. . . She came
into the Jewish National Fund
office to pick up a batch of pam-
phlets on the JNF . . and while
there ordered three tree planting
certificates to plant three trees .. .
one for the Sisters of the Holy
Family of Nazareth, another for
the Most Rev. Harold Perry and a
third for herself as a gift from her
parents ... Sister Helen. who gave
the trees in lieu of Easter cards,
hopes some day to be able to plant
a grove (1,000 trees) in Israel.
PERSONALITY PLUS gal Lissa
Gladstone was the recent choice as
Girl of the Week by Oakland Com-
munity College student organ, the
Orchard Ridge Recorder.
MAC PITT, playing with his or-
chestra at the recent testimonial
affair for Walter Reuther, who do-

nated a science chair to the He-
brew University, is a photography
bug and naturally asked guest
speaker Abba Eben, Israel foreign
minister, if he could photograph
him . . . Just then a gentleman
with a thick Yiddish accent came
over and remarked to Mr. Eban,
"I can't get it over! You don't even
have an accent!"
DURING PASSOVER, Paul Am-
ber put up a sign by a vacant
space at his Amber Apartment
Colonies in Royal Oak ... "DON'T
EVEN THINK OF PARKING
HERE. RESERVED FOR ELI-
JAH."
JEFFREY SCOTT LICHTER-
MAN, 5-year-old son of Rae Jean
and Sandy Lichterman, heard his
parents talking about the bombings
in Israel and said, "Gosh! I sure
hope they don't hit my tree!"
GENTS WHO BROUGHT their
taleisim to be cleaned for Passover
at Debonair Cleaners in Oak Park
were not allowed to pay . . . Own-
er Al Dubin says his father never
charged to clean prayer shawls, so
why should he.
CAST OF 67 VERSATILE den-
tists and wives will have a chance
to display their stage talents when
the original musical, "It's Greek
To Me," is presented by the Alpha
Omega Dental Fraternity's dra-
matic group, April 30, May 1 and
3, at Southfield High, 10 Mile and
Lahser ... Some of them; - like Dr.
Don Shaprio, Dr. John and Donna
Cohen, Sally (Myron) Kaufman
and Dr. Ronald Miller, have al-
ready had the experience of ap-
pearing before crowds in other
prouctions ... The show has begun
to take on a polished and profes-
sional look even though so many of
the cast will be first timers . . .
Scenery for the two-act, 18-scene
musical has been laboridhsly built
and painted by a crew working
with Dr. Arnold Kollin in the base-
ment
of his home . . . Costumes

designed by Irene (Seymour) Gelb
have been fitted by Gertrude (Da-
vid) Silver and Rhoda (George)
Rosin . . . with the entire produc-
tion being coordinated by Dr. Jack
Lawson and directed by Dr. Gerald
Michael and Dr. Hubert Goldstrom
... Proceeds will benefit the Hope
sb Ship, Student Aid at U. of D. and
U. of M. and the Northend Clinic
. . . For tickets, contact Dr. Phil
Sherman, 353-9213. - • • •
