Judith Feuerman to Be

Receive Honors at Federation Meeting

The men who have given leader-
ship to the four budget and plan-
ning divisions of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, since their forma-
tion 20 years ago, will be honored
at the annual meeting of Federa-
tion. 6 p.m. Thursday at the Jew-
ish Center.
Established to provide a better
approach toward orderly planning
for communal services as well as
agency buildings in Detroit so that
needs would be filled and social
problems solved by the commu-
nity. the divisions have used the
talents and interest of many hun-
dreds of volunteers through the

years. Almost 150 men and women
are currently serving as division
members.
"Through the divisions, Detroit
Jewry has created one of the na-
tion's best planned programs of
services in community relations,
education, health and welfare
and capital needs," Hyman
Safran, Federation president,
said. "With changing times
needs have changed and mem-
bers of the divisions have helped
develop programs and agencies
which through the years kept
up to date with specific prob-
lems, both local and national in
scope."

of Southfield Rd., Southfield, an-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter Judith Ellen to Neil El-
Mouchi, son of Mrs. Ruth El-
Mouchi of Wildwood Ave., Oak
Park and Mr. Daniel El-Mouchi of

Both Miss Feuerman and her
fiance attended Eastern Michigan
University and are now students
at Wayne State University.

Two Detoit musicians will be
presented as soloists in the Annual
Artist Concert of the Music Study
Club Nov. 17 at Oak Park High
School.
According to Mrs. Ben Meckler,
vice president and chairman of
the concert, they will be Judy Ber-
man, violinist, daughter of Mrs.
Lawrence Berman and the late
Dr. Berman; and pianist Cynthia
Raim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Raim.
Miss Berman, a graduate of the
Juilliard School of Music, has con-
certized and appeared on televi-
sion throughout the Southeast and
has developed a reputation as a
chamber music artist. At present,
she is assistant professor of violin
at the University of Georgia,
where she is concertmaster of the
University Civic Orchestra.
Miss Raim, though not yet 17,
has won many honors and nu-
merous scholarships and has made
five solo appearances with the
Detroit Symphony, as well as with
other orchestras. She is a pupil
of Mischa Kottler.
