Mr. and Mrs. Max M. Fisher are among the honorary chairmen
of the Bal Africain, a fund-raising dinner-dance 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the
Detroit Institute of Arts, it was announced by Arthur D. Coar, general
chairman. Mrs. Julius Dorn and Mrs. Alan E. Schwartz are among the
members of the executive committee. The affair will benefit the African
Art Gallery Committee of the Founders Society, Detroit Institute of Arts,
in its plans to acquire African art, Afro-American art and related study
programs and lectures in these areas.
Mr. and Mrs. Leiiter J. Morris of Parkside Ave., recently stayed
at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu'. Morris was one of 220 top
Buick dealers in the U. S. who won the trip during a nationwide sales
campaign.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weiss of LaBelle Blvd., Oak Park, were hon-
ored on their 25th wedding anniversary at a recent party given by their
children, Allan and Susie, and Mr. Weiss' brother, Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Weiss.
Capt. Lawrence Allen Goldman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gold-
man, 18210 Lesure, has completed his term of service in the U.S. Air
Force. He has been to Guam, the Philippine Islands and Vietnam.
In town for the recent wedding of their niece, Susan Feldman, to
Sanford Siporin, were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pechenik and their children
from Buenos Aires.

In a recent ceremony at the
Raleigh House, Barbara Joan Nor-
ris was married to Lt. Roland
Matthew Philipp. Rabbi M. Rob-
ert Syme and Cantor Harold Or-
bach officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Norris of
Pinehurst Ave. The bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Law-
rence Philipp of Lesure Ave.
Roberta Wolfson was the maid
of honor. Leslie Philipp was his
brother's best man.
The couple will reside at Webb
Air Base in -Big Spring, Tex.,
where Lt. Philipp is stationed.
