- Fourteen Detroit leaders of Bnai Brith will participate in the
five-day triennial convention opening in Washington Sept. 7. The dele-
gation is led by Mrs. Charles D. Solovich and Mrs. Leonard M. Sims,
both past international presidents of Bnai Brith Women, Alfred H.
Bounin and. Mrs. Philip P. Fealk, former presidents, respectively, of
Bnai Brith's and Bnai Brith Women's Midwestern districts. The other
delegates are Louis E. Barden, Morris Direnfeld, Milton M. Weinstein,
Sol Moss, Harry Nathan, Bernard Panush, Harry Pearson, Arthur C.
Schott, Louis Weber and Harry Weinberger.
For the recent wedding of Benee S. Lieberman to Gerald Stern
at Cong. Bnai Moshe, there were a number of guests from other cities,
including Mrs. Margaret Gondos and her son Gordon and Mrs. Paula
Fisch, all of Arlington, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Swartz and their

Mrs. Annette Bechek, JFCS case-
worker and consultant to the nurs-
ing home visiting teams, will de-
scribe the role of the professional
in coordinating activity of volun-
teers in relation to the needs of
specific patients.
Kenneth Arnold, administrator of
Heritage Nursing Home, will pre-
sent the viewpoint of nursing
homes and how they feel the resi-
dents' needs can be met by the
community through a volunteer
project oriented to filling gaps in
service.
Mrs. Jaffe announced that a
training manual for nursing
home volunteers will be avail-
able for distribution at the insti-
tute. This manual was author-
ed jointly by Mrs. Jack Baroff
and Mrs. Norman, Schkloven,
members of the JFCS board and
nursing home committee. Mrs.
Baroff is a professionally trained
social worker, formerly on the
staff of JFCS, and Mrs. Schklo-
ven is a registered nurse and an
authority on geriatric nursing.
The institute is open to a select-
ed number of interested people in
the community. For information,
