THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS `Anzio'" Recreates Battle
'The Producers' on Studio 8 Screen
Joseph E. Levine's - comed y,
"The Producers," written and di-
rected by Mel Brooks, which is I
now showing exclusively at the
Studio Eight Theater, stars Zero
Mostel and Gene Wilder as pro-
ducers who deliberately set out
to produce the worst script they
can find, so that they can abscond
with the over-subscribed funds.
The producers cast the lead
roles with a hippie guitar player
named LSD (Di& Shawn), hire
Broadway's worst director, Roger
de Bris (Christopher Hewett) and
then sit back to await the theatri-
cal disaster.

BUCHAREST (JTA) — The Fed-
eration of Jewish Communities
here will hold festivities June 28-
July 1 in honor of the 20th anni-
versary of the election of Dr.
Moses Rosen as Romania's chief
rabbi.
Among the guests will be Israel's
Sephardic Chief Rabbi Itzhak Nis-
sim, the chief rabbis of Hungary
and Czechoslovakia, a delegation
of American Jewish religious lead-
ers, including representatives of
the Joint Distribution Committee,
and delegations from Argentina
and Canada.
In Jerusalem, the Israel Foreign
Ministry has "advised" several
cabinet ministers not to visit Ro-
mania at this time in order to
avoid causing that nation difficul7
ties with the Soviet bloc, an in-
formed source told JTA. Invita-
tions have been received from the
Bucharest Jewish Community by
Dr. Zerah Warhaftig, minister of
religious affairs; Dr. Josef Burg,
minister of social welfare; a n d
Moshe Kol, minister of tourism
and development.
The foreign ministry has not,
however, objected to the planned
journey to Romania of Zeev Sharef,
minister of commerce and industry,
who is scheduled to go there Sun-
day, because his mission is con-
nected with trade and technical
agreements between the two coun-
tries. It also has not objected to
the projected visit of Rabbi Nis-
sim, whose visit is considered to
be of a less official nature.'
